Spider-Man’s back and it’s a brand-new day for Peter Parker. The web slinging wall-crawler is one of the world’s favourite superheroes and his latest silver screen adventure sees him dealing with physical changes, a world that doesn’t remember him, and a slew of enemies old and new.
Fans of the fantastic Marvel crime fighter can also enter our amazing competition to swing their way to Berlin on an action-packed family trip to celebrate the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
After the events of the last film, Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), the world has forgotten Peter Parker due to a botched spell by Dr. Strange. Now, with his Aunt May no longer around, and girlfriend MJ and best friend Ned not knowing who he is, Peter is alone, isolated and struggling with his Spidey abilities mutating in troubling ways.
Continuing to protect New York by himself, a shadowy clan of Ninjas known as The Hand have emerged to cause trouble, whilst The Scorpion has also arrived on the scene and has a score to settle with Spider-Man. What’s more, an unknown villain also joins the fray, causing chaos and throwing a spanner in the works. Rumour has it this will be the iconic X-Men mutant Jean Gray, played by Sadie Sink, but nothing has been confirmed yet – you’ll have to make your way to the cinema to find out! With the streets of New York becoming increasingly dangerous, Peter also must reel in the over-the-top justice of The Punisher from getting out of hand, whilst keeping Frank Castle on side.
As Peter tries to uncover the source of his evolving powers, he reaches out to Dr. Bruce Banner, the alter ego of the Avenger’s hero Hulk, to try and stop his DNA mutating. With so much going on, it’s sure to be another epic adventure for Spider-Man as he tries to keep his feet on the ground as regular Peter Parker whilst saving the day as the red-and-blue suited superhero.
With a UK release date of the 29th of July 2026, Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits British cinema screens a few days before the USA gets to see it on July 31st. Set to be a summer smash, it continues the story of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker who appeared in The Avenger’s films.
Tom Holland reprises his role as the current iteration of the icon, continuing his stint as Spider-Man after the successful runs of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield before him, both who appeared as their respective versions of the hero, alongside Tom, in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).
Other actors in the film include A-listers like Zendaya who returns as MJ, Mark Ruffalo making an appearance as Bruce Banner AKA the Hulk, and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle AKA The Punisher.
Other notable appearances include Jacob Batalon as Ned, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan AKA Scorpion, and Marvin Jones III as Tombstone.
You may hear Brand New Day also being referred to as Spider-Man 4 as it’s the fourth standalone Spider-Man film that Tom Holland has starred in, with it being a continuing series of movies. He also appeared in two of the Disney owned, Marvel produced Avengers film as part of an ensemble cast.
However, Spider-Man has had 5 previous Hollywood films to his name with Tobey Maguire first taking on the role in a trilogy of films spanning from 2002 – 2007. English actor Andrew Garfield then stepped up as the Amazing Spider-Man for two films, before Tom Holland took on the mantle in 2017.
