What Came First – The Wizard of Oz or Wicked?

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz was Frank Baum’s first book in a series of 13, originally published in 1900. The iconic film adaptation followed in 1939, starring Judy Garland, and became one of the most viewed films in cinematic history.

The stage musical Wicked premiered on Broadway in 2003 to critical acclaim and global success. Its popularity led to a two-part film adaptation, bringing the magical story to a whole new generation of fans.

Why is Wicked So Popular?
