Why Are Pokémon Toys a Great Gift for Fans of All Ages?

Pokémon is an iconic franchise that’s popularity spans across all ages thanks to its enduring appeal. With a mixture of cute and fearsome characters with unique abilities, and new generations of the battling beasts constantly being added, people have been collecting them for nearly 30 years. And with so many now, there’s bound to be one that connects with you.

They also come in so many forms, from Nintendo Switch videogames to cuddly Pokémon plush toys and awesome action toys, that you can catch ‘em all in the way that suits you.

What Are the Popular Pokémon Series and Characters?

Pokémon’s mass appeal means that almost all of its releases are incredibly popular. However, there are some characters and figures that you may recognise more than others.

Pikachu has been the face of the franchise for some time, and this adorable electric mouse Pokémon has been front and centre of many games and TV shows. The loyalty that they show has always been a big part of why they are beloved by many. Likewise, the three protagonists of the original anime cartoon; Ash, Misty and Brock, are also extremely well known. Others may find Psyduck more notable thanks to his recent appearances in the Netflix series ‘Pokémon Concierge’.

But with over 1,025 Pokémon (a far cry from the original 151), plus different trainers and gym leaders who battle and collect these creatures, there’s so many great characters to choose from!

Who is the Legendary Pokémon?

There is no singular ‘legendary Pokémon as every generation of the brightly coloured beasts comes with new legendaries to discover, capture and battle with. Powerful and rare, often these legendary Pokémon act as regional mascots, playing a major part in the story of each area they represent, and quite often there are mythical Pokémon that appear alongside these legendaries that further deepen the lore of the franchise.

Arceus is the creator of the universe in Pokémon history, so is often considered a sort of deity in the world of Pokémon, often making them the first point of call when people mention legendaries but, as of writing, there are over 60 distinct legendary Pokémon across generations.

Types of Pokémon Toys, Figures and Plushies

Pokémon figures come in many forms from collectible figures, like FUNKO Pop!, that are perfect for display, or action figures so you can bring the excitement of the games, films and TV shows to life.

These initial sets were of the iconic Pokémon Pikachu and Evee, fan favourites who front the brand across many products and media.

This isn’t the first time Pokémon has had a foray into the construction arena though, with a successful collaboration with MEGA that saw all manner of Pokémon MEGA construction sets including creature builds and action sets, fans of these kits will love the LEGO crossovers.
