Can you believe it’s been 25 years since the boy wizard first hit our screens? In 2001, a fresh-faced Daniel Radcliffe brought the already popular book character to life and firmly cemented him as a global phenomenon in the public psyche, and the love for the magical minor only grows as the years pass.

Harry Potter is one of Britain’s biggest cultural exports since the Beatles with the celebrated book series leading onto the epic films, and now an HBO TV show premiering in December 2026. Here, we look at ways you can commemorate this epic milestone.

Events to Add to Your Calendar

The Warner Brother’s Tour has long been an established must for super-fans as you go out to the studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire, where the films were shot, and tour the sets, and see the costumes and props used to bring the magic to life.

To celebrate the 25^th anniversary of the first film, The Philosopher’s Stone, premiering on 16^th November 2001, there’s a new exhibition on with original props, authentic sets, shows and demonstrations and magical challenges. Then, there’s the new TV show dropping this Christmas, which allows for more of the book material, that didn’t make it into the films, to be shown on screens, with new actors and a new take on the story being played out on HBO and partner TV shows and streaming channels.
