With Christmas looming, it’s the perfect time to get busy and creative with the family. Why not create some Loom band wreaths to decorate your windows, doors, or Christmas tree?

Here’s a simple loom band Christmas wreath design that you can do at home with the Out To Impress Loom Kit.

You could use this lovely wreath as a decoration or to bring some Christmas cheer to your doll’s house! I’m going to be using the crochet hook that comes in the set or you could also use the Loom board from the set, or even your fingers.

Making the Loom Band Wreath

Step 1:

Choose your colours. I’ve gone with a classic 1-colour design in green, but you could choose any combination that you like.

Step 2:

Take your first loom band and wrap it around the crochet hook three times, like this:

Step 3:

Take two more loom bands of the same colour and hook them on at the top of the crochet hook.

Step 4:

Take your first loom band and pull it up and over the hook so that it is now attached to the other two loom bands.

Step 5:

Now pull the other side of the loom bands and pull it over the top of the crochet hook again.

Step 6:

Take three new bands, either of the same colour, or a new colour, depending on your design.  Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you get something that looks like a string:

Step 7:

Continue growing your string in whatever colour design you choose until it is long enough to form a wreath of the required size. You can check this by bending the strong to join up in a circle. Depending on how you are going to use your wreath you might want it to be bigger or smaller.

Step 8:

Eventually your loom string will be long enough to make the size of wreath that you want. At this point, take one single loom band and thread your string onto it like this:

Step 9:

Now take the loop furthest from the end of the crochet hook, thread it over the top of the other loop and off the crochet hook, before pulling down on the string to pull the top band tightIt will then look like this:

Step 10:

Remove the loom string from the crochet hook. Take one of the see-through “S” hooks included in the set and attach it to the single band at end of the string.

Step 11:

Now attach the other end of the string to the hook and, congratulations, you have completed your wreath!
