Legos and music?!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The alien DJ Beatbox Legos set is beyond the best innovation with creative exploration. Creativity at its finest combined into awesomeness. My son loved putting it together and would recommend it for ages 5 and up.

Bought this for my son's birthday. He is really into DJs and mixing music, so this looked like a dream toy. Unfortunately, I immediate discovered that our phones are not compatible with the app. This is completely baffling, since we're both using Samsung Galaxy S10 series phones, which are from late 2019, and are running Android 11. The description on the product says it's compatible with Android 9 or above, so nothing would've lead me to believe our relatively new phones would not support this app. Without the app, this toy is useless. Too bad, because it's adorable and looks like it would be a blast. For the first time in history, I am VERY disappointed in a LEGO purchase.

Great fun for children

He needed a little help to set it up but has enjoyed playing with it and making his own music videos and showing his friends and family. I will be buying another one for his best friend too!

My 6 year old really enjoyed it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When my 6 year old opened the box he was very excited and first thing he did was build the figure. He really loved the blue, translucent hair piece on the figure.
Building the stage and box was fairly simple for him using the provided instructions and he only had a small issue when trying to figure out how the handles fitted on but he got there in the end.
The instructions were pretty clear for the build but we had a few issues getting the app to work from the Google Play Store. We first tried to install it on his tablet but it was not available from the Google Play Store so we ended up installing it on my phone.
The augmented reality part of the app was cool and it took a few goes to get the distance right for it to display but my 6 year old was amazed to see a full size augmented reality Lego figure in our living room.
It comes with 16 tiles or "Beat Bits" which you can add to the stage walls and they will be scanned by the mobile app which will let you press them and they will play different music or sounds depending on which you select. This means you get a giant Lego figure dancing and moving to music in your living room as you press the different tiles.
Overall he really enjoyed playing with this and over the past few days he has gone back to it again and again. The only downside I found is that he has to use my phone to play with it rather than his own tablet so it would be great if the app was supported on more devices.
