Christmas Eve Box Fillers

What to put in a Christmas Eve box

The best Christmas Eve box fillers are small enough to fit inside the box but exciting enough to feel like a proper gift. A soft toy is always a welcome addition, whether that's a Fuggler with its gloriously unhinged expression, a Care Bear for something sweeter, or a Squishmallow for the ultimate in squidgy comfort. Arts and crafts sets are another brilliant option, giving children something to get stuck into on Christmas morning once the excitement of opening the box has worn off. Sensory toys, mystery plushies, and collectable figures round things out nicely, and there's plenty here to mix and match depending on your child's interests.

Christmas Eve box fillers for kids

Soft toys

Soft toys are one of the most popular Christmas Eve box fillers, and it's easy to see why. Fugglers are a particularly inspired choice, with their brilliantly weird expressions and disturbingly realistic teeth making them an unforgettable surprise to find inside the box. The festive Fuggler range includes characters like Keith Wreathington and Sasquooshmas Tree, which feel perfectly suited to Christmas Eve. For something a little more cuddly, Care Bears and Snuggle Buddies are both wonderful options, and the Squishmallows KPop Demon Hunters range adds a fun, on-trend twist to a classic gift.

Arts and crafts

An arts and crafts set is a brilliant Christmas Eve box filler because it gives children something to get stuck into on Christmas morning once the excitement of opening the box has worn off. From bracelet makers and bead sets to sticker craft kits, slime sets, and pen makers, the range covers everything from quiet, focused making to hands-on, messy fun. Most come in well under £15, and the best ones are the kind that keep little hands busy long after the decorations come down.

Christmas Eve box fillers by age

Christmas Eve box fillers for younger children

For younger children, soft and tactile fillers tend to work best. Snuggle Buddies characters like Oakley the Otter, Fabian the Fox, and Bella the Bunny are all wonderfully soft and sized perfectly for little hands. Care Bears are another lovely choice, with their bright colours and gentle personalities making them an instant hit with younger children.

Christmas Eve box fillers for older children

Older children tend to love anything with a creative or collectable angle. Arts and crafts sets give them something to get stuck into, while mystery plushies and collectable figures add an element of surprise that never gets old. For children already deep into a particular brand or character, a themed craft set or collectable is always a well-received find.

Toy Advent calendars for girls

For girls who love a particular character or world, a themed Advent calendar makes the whole of December feel special. The LEGO Disney Princess Advent calendar is a wonderful choice for Disney fans, bringing Ariel, Cinderella, Moana, and more to life in mini figure form. The Bluey Advent calendar is another brilliant option for younger girls who love Bluey and her family, with exclusive festive figures and accessories to collect across the 24 days. For older girls and teens, the KPop Demon Hunters Advent calendar and the Stranger Things Advent calendar are both brilliant choices that bring something a bit more grown-up to the countdown.
