Here at TheToyShop.com, we care about the environment and we're doing our bit to cut down on unnecessary waste.
Why we recycle boxes
Every week we unpack lots of packages from toy factories, leaving our warehouse piled high with empty cardboard boxes. But rather than see them wasted, we've pledged to reuse as many as we can.
This means when you order a toy from us it might arrive in a recycled box, which is great for everyone because:
- Your items are delivered in stronger packages
- We produce less waste
- Fewer trees are chopped down

Why we recycle batteries
A whopping 95 per cent of household batteries in the UK end up in the dustbin and ultimately in landfill, leaking harmful chemicals into the soil.
At The Entertainer we want to help tackle this environmental damage and make it easier for our customers to do the same, so we have battery recycling facilities at every one of our stores.
We accept all non-lead acid battery types, including both rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries and battery packs from electrical equipment:
- Alkaline Mananese
- Zinc-carbon
- Nickel Cadmium (NiCd)
- Lithium Ion (Li-ion)
- Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH)
- Single-use Lithium
- Silver Oxide
- Zinc Air
Why we recycle electrical goods
Many electrical and electronic goods can be repaired or recycled, but instead we throw away more than one million tonnes of the stuff every year in the UK.
These goods end up in landfill, causing serious damage to the environment, nature and human health as toxins seep into the soil and water.
That's why The Entertainer stores are among of the UK's Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations recycling sites.

It's a sign that the item is not suitable for the dustbin and should be taken to a nominated recycling site such as The Entertainer.
We can recycle unwanted electrical and electronic items for you, free of charge, when you buy a similar item in store – just ask a member of staff for more information.
