Rated 5 out of 5 by from Challenging Build but love the power tools! So many pieces and came with powertools! Doing the Boom Cab gear box took me 2 goes as I mis aligned a gear and dint notice until putting the final cosmetic panels on. Great sturdy crane and looks like the one outside my work building where they are doing construction

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My most awesome set ever !! From the first day I started building Lego to 2013,I was always searching for a Technic set which would completely satisfy my mechanical pleasure to build large sets, and in 2013 the 42009 went out and got a huge satisfying result from other Lego fans and especially Technic ones. I would describe the 42009 as the most awesome Technic set ever released, and especially for its awesome details, multiple and magnificent functions,no words can describe the real meaning of owning a 42009 ! Hope that with years another awesome crane such as this one will come out...Lego is getting more advanced year by year and that's why it is surely the best brand for building by most of its fans !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This set was very difficult to make. Took me around 5 days, but I had school so it makes sense. Very large and powerful with great power functions and detail. All the Legos I buy now are usually only Technic, as they are very strong and hard to break, as well as their look and power functions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Technological Marvel This is the most amazing LEGO I have ever built. The detailed design is an engineering wonder. This vehicle contains about 130 gears, showing just how complex the functioning mechanisms are. After finishing building it, everything works exactly as it should. One motor operates all of the motorized functions, five in all. This is accomplished through a number of very complicated gear boxes. The truck rolls and steers manually, but even that works beautifully and smoothly. There are a number of fun smaller details, such as opening doors, reclining seats, adjustable headrests, adjustable steering wheel, and an engine with working pistons. When building it, you must pay very close attention to every detail, including the color of the part you are using. It is sometimes difficult to see the difference between black and dark gray on the instructions. Inspect and operate each small assembly as you go. This will help prevent backtracking or disassembling later when something doesn't work correctly. This a very challenging build, but if you are up to it, is well worth it.
