Rated 5 out of 5 by Walrus LEGO, You've Impressed Me Once Again
The build starts with a half-track, I'd say fairly average for Legends of Chima. It has a few uninspired play features, nothing they haven't done before. Aesthetically speaking the half-track is great, and while only having a couple play features, the detail is quite good and captured the image of a saber-tooth tiger well, and for the most part, without stickers.
Once again, the mini figures are above average. Although they aren't new (This is the summer wave for last year) they still go above and beyond LEGO's average mini figure standards. The prints are incredibly detailed, and there are some inventive new weapons. Most of the armor we've seen before, but it's great to get more in such a large quantity.
The wall surrounding the Flying Phoenix Fire Temple is fairly weak and the parts used could've been much better spent. It's half as tall as a mini figure and doesn't really provide any cover whatsoever, making it pretty much useless. The detail around the gate is decent, and the "fire fountains" are also quite cool, but the whole thing is quite inadequate.
The Temple itself is much better. The detailing is superb and the creative parts usage is just enjoyable to build and look at. The transforming action is very smooth and easy to operate one-handedly. The whole aircraft is very appeasing until you get to the back, a mess of technic parts, rubber bands, and dead space. There's many ways they could've covered this up but it's understandable why they didn't. It's still a fun build and the play features more than make up for it, with it's bomb canister, turrets, cockpit, and transforming action.
All in all, this is an exceptional set, with an excellent aircraft, first-rate mini figures, amusing play features, and although some areas are weaker than others, the pros outweigh the cons and it's not as erroneous or generic as some other flagship sets.

I was reluctant in buying this set, after purchasing the utter failure of Maula's Ice Mammoth Stomper. But now, looking back, I'm glad I purchased this!
For the price, it comes with quite a bit of things! It's got an Ice Rodent, Fire Temple, Shrine\Bomb Refill, 8 minifigures, and of course, the Flying Phoenix!
Now, here are my pros and cons:
-Lots of playability
-Sot of small
Overall, I very much recommend this set!

The flying Phoenix temple (Or Blazing Bastion) is a delightful edition to my collection and would be to any enthusiastic Lego model collector. The most notable and favored function would have to be the landing and flying mode on the craft! One of the main things I truly love about the set, is not the big models, but the minifigures. There are many of them, and a good thing to because they are so detailed (The best would have to be Stealthor). Every vehicle in this set has a flying function, which is quite delightful! I would definitely recommend this to any Lego fan, young or old!
Its worth every penny.
