Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Build and Result I love Lego vehicles, especially those that can fit minifigures. This build was fun, with plenty of cool features that keep both myself and my son entertained when we play with it. I love the mechanics to the propeller as it hooks up to the rear wheel, allowing you to move the wheel back and forth to power the propeller. I got a little creative and removed the engine and put the Lego Power Function's motor in it - it fit perfectly; I just needed a few extra pieces to mount it properly - and I was able to power the propeller with the battery pack. With out without the Lego Power Functions add-in, this is a must have for any Lego fan, and any aviation fan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favorite Set So Far This is the coolest set I've ever owned, and is the coolest ever LEGO airplane besides the Sopwith Camel, which is $40 more than this one. The building process takes a while, but that doesn't bother me. It was fun to sift through all the awesome pieces and see the ingenuity behind this set's design. Pros: -Thick fuselage and deep wings create a heft that adds to the authenticity of the plane. -The gear system for activating the propeller is awesome. You can open up the engine and just stare at the gears as they spin. Makes me happy. -The color scheme isn't red like almost every other vehicle set in the history of LEGO. -The sliding back canopy is awesome. -The wheels fold into the undercarriage. -It looks so awesome. Great design. Con (that's right, just one): It didn't come with a mini figure (which doesn't bother me much, but I wouldn't complain if it had a pilot with it) Overall, I'd say it's more than worth the purchase. I highly recommend it for both LEGO fans and aviation aficionados. The plane is based pretty heavily on the SBD Dauntless, an American dive-bomber in service during World War II. Super cool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a perfect gift for a birthday It is quite a big box compared with the other 3in1 edition but the lego dimensions are still very appropriate to the age group it is just a bigger challenge for the children The children love lego and find great fun to build.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lego Delivers! Back when the sopwith camel came out last year, i said that it would be a great idea to create another aircraft that was based off of a real aircraft, which is whhat they did here. although a WWII fighter was never painted with this livery, is is based off of the Douglas SBD Dauntless, a fighter that served through the heart of WWII, from 1940 to 1944, likely in the pacific theater. originally i had wished that Lego would have made a P-51 Mustang (which inspired the name for the famous ford Mustang sports car) or a B-25 Mitchell bomber (the type of plane used to bomb tokyo in the movie PEARL HARBOR) and be made as a special edition like the Sopwith, but creator did a good job making a plane based off a plane, like back in 2009 with Sonic Boom, which it was based off of the Eurofighter Typhoon and the McDonnel Douglas F-4 Phantom. Plus better with the price tag too. Whats next, a jet based off of the SR-71 Blackbird spyplane? Who knows?!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Add this to your LEGO creator collection. Overall - Build was easy, the rewarding part is when you're almost or done building when you see everything together. I actually found the building process a little bit boring until the final few pages when I start to see everything together. Maybe it's just the design or layout of the plane (not from Plane Features perspective, just simply how / where bricks are laid). LEGO didn't do really anything thing wrong here, just like typical plane sets, you build the body, the wings then the tail...typical...but just...In my opinion, nothing...really crazily exciting when building this. I guess this is the ONLY negative if you ask me about this set, this may not even be valid negative anyway. Positive : 1. Looks great when finished 2. NO STICKERS! YAY! 3. The features are sophisticated and works great! I like the features. 4. Like how they included the remove tool - handy Negative: 1. IN MY OPINION - building process was not exciting.
