Rated 5 out of 5 by Not just a boys toy! I bought this for my 5 year old daughter for Christmas, as she loves playing with the brio track and Thomas trains. She loved this, and it brought back memories for me as I had a lego train and extensive track as a young girl. My daughter did not get much of a look in after here nephews and father defended over Christmas. Great toy......only down side it needing more track 11 January 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by I absolutely love Lego Trains! I've been collecting them since I was 16, I had one of the original freight trains with the 9v tracks. I REALLY miss the 9v tracks and really think the power functions are a poor substitute. The build was very quick, it came together in a couple of hours. And then, I had to substitute one of my old school 9v motors into the build. The engine car is well designed to conceal the battery box, and the design relies on the battery box to be in the car, so, I just left it in place, and pulled the power functions motor off and placed the 9v motor on. Check out the quick video I did of this train in action on the original 9v powered rails! 04 July 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Perfect For Minifigures I have been researching LEGO trains for a little while and decided to get the High-Speed Passenger Train because of its sleek design and price. Not only is this my first train set, but it is also my first set with Power Functions and I am thrilled. The Power Functions on the train make for great play and it is really fun to watch the train fly around the track. One of my favorite parts about the train is that it can hold a ton of minifigures. There are eight seats total in the train, and you can make other minifigures stand in the train. I was able to fit 24 figures in the train at once! The only critique I have has to do with the design. If the train is moving too fast it will derail around a corner. I did a little research on this issue and was able to find an easy fix to the problem. All in all this set is amazing and I look forward to playing with it for years to come! 11 June 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great train LEGO®! Really like this train! This is my first train and enjoyed building it as it has power functions. Just really wish they covered the holes in the floor and even added entry ways 06 June 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by So Good, I Bought Two Of Them! I honestly like this set. Sure, it could have a few tweaks to the design (which I did) and some people may/may not feel same. Here are my thoughts: Pros: - Simple, straightforward design - Easy build - Great for play with many people Cons: - May need tweaks to design (noses stick out in turns, cars are connected via magnets that don't always want to cooperate, etc.) - Works best on large track layout - Too steep of an incline will get the train stuck (a problem that my friend had, although a relatively easy fix.) Overall, I like the set and so did my friend who got this set. He too took my word and got extra track to expand his layout so he could run his train all over his room. A final word of advice, though: Try to get as much extra track as you can so you can run the train all over a room- so it is less of a trip hazard. I hope you like this set as well as I did and may the power of the Phoenix be with you. 30 March 2016
